15 Minute Mind- MindStop
15-Minute Mind is a restorative urban project developed through Behind the City, exploring neurourbanism and the relationship between urban environments and our psychological needs. It examines how overlooked spaces within existing cities can become opportunities for small, repeatable interventions.
Scope
Restorative Urbanism
Approach
The project began by studying Bangalore's ITPL corridor through pedestrian movement, public amenities, street conditions, and the psychological needs often overlooked in designing cities. These observations informed a system of interventions intended to work within existing streets rather than require entirely new infrastructure.
Intervention
MindStop is the first physical prototype developed through 15-Minute Mind. Designed as a modular, reusable structure with interchangeable activities, it was piloted on a street in Bangalore to observe how people respond to a new kind of public space. The larger vision proposes a network of MindStops positioned at approximately 15-minute walking intervals, creating a repeatable system of small public spaces that can adapt to different neighborhoods and communities.
